Embracer Group and Amplifier Game Invest acquires Skövde-based game studio FRAME BREAK.

Amplifier Game Invest, a wholly owned subsidiary of Embracer Group, acquires 100 percent of the shares in Sweden based studio FRAME BREAK AB. The studio becomes Amplifier Game Invest’s second wholly owned studio in Skövde, home of Sweden’s largest indie successes during the last decade.

FRAME BREAK is a studio where we see massive potential in delivering the game experiences of the future. A young and agile team, building on a fresh set of ideas and new takes on existing genres, that can reach incredibly far in today’s game climate.”, says Per-Arne Lundberg, CEO of Amplifier Game Invest, adding “We have followed the development of the FRAME BREAK team since 2019 and have been very impressed with their energy and creativity

FRAME BREAK was founded in 2020 by Joakim Hedström, Jack Lindgren and Cornelis Westin, after having worked together as part of the The Game Incubator program in Skövde. The city is already the home of several Embracer studios, such as Coffee Stain Studios, Pieces Interactive, and Amplifier Game Invest subsidiary Palindrome Interactive.

“We first met the great team at Amplifier when we won a pitch competition at the Sweden Game Conference. The help they provided showed us the value of adding experienced advisors to our studio, and now that we become an integral part of the Amplifier Group, we will be able to realize our creative vision with them as a long term partner” – Joakim Hedström, CEO, FRAME BREAK

With a current team size of 5 persons, FRAME BREAK will be developing games based on their own IP. The team is planning to develop games that engage players currently enjoying the survival and builder genres. By focusing on highly replayable co-op experiences on PC and Consoles, FRAME BREAK seeks to establish a long term presence in the game industry, building a team focused on delivering extraordinary experiences to a growing market.

FRAME BREAK becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Amplifier Game Invest AB, joining the ranks of 13 other game development companies already part of the Amplifier family. Amplifier Game Invest is one of the eight operative groups within Embracer Group.
